| Yellow pine, pitch pine and oak can be blasted to remove years of dirt and grime to show the true colour of the wood. The king post trusses shown are pine, whilst the perlins are oak - usually reclaimed from old sailing ships. Some are hundreds of years old, I have seen 1/2 inch musket balls buried deep in some of the historic timbers! |
